Learning in a vacuum isn't useful or productive so I've tried to combine this Learning 2.o project with a personal goal.<br /><br />As you've seen from past posts, I am the President of the Patrick McCahan Clan. With over 400 kinfolk, sharing information is a challenge and costly too if we rely on the old snail mail newsletter. It's difficult to share photos, scanned documents, etc. Since our Webmaster got deployed to Afghanistan, we've had a static site.<br /><br />So, I used this week's exercise and uploaded a few photos to Flickr to share with the Clan. Today was my niece Kelsey's first day of kindergarten and she called to tell me "IT WAS THE BEST DAY OF HER LIFE!" (I put this in all caps because she yelled it into the phone...she was so excited) I asked her what she learned today and she said, "Not much, but tomorrow I'm going to learn to read." It just doesn't feel right to try to learn something new without others sitting around me where I can see their faces and know we are all in the same boat, or at least in the same body of water. Or maybe, it's the technology and learning connection that scares me.
